"If you have not previously read of my latest trip over to Tennessee, one of the highlights of the brief time I was able to spend in Nashville was again meeting Bill Dees, and Joe Melson, both of whom co-wrote with Roy many of his greatest hits.
The video clip above, from my archives, and the winged header on this article are clues to something new in the musical world for Orbison fans. First, Joe has a terrific new website...check out the truly impressive list of songs he both wrote and co-wrote.

And second, his "Hickory Records Collection" album was released on CD in late July 2006. The original vinyl LP's from Acuff-Rose are nearly impossible to find, collectors just do not let them back on the market. Now we can have the songs directly from their writer, in modern format.
